It is hard to believe that our Daniel is officially a
kindergartner at
Oconee County Primary School. It has been a big topic of discussion at our house the last several weeks. After shopping for back to school clothes (our kids are always very proud of new clothes), school supplies, a backpack and lunch box Daniel was ready for school. Chris and I took him to meet his new teachers, Miss Susan and Miss Robin, on Tuesday the 5
th. He was very excited and eager to get up bright and early on Wednesday morning. All five of us were dressed and ready at 7:00 AM. WOW! This is not unusual for Chris, but very unusual for me and the kids to be dressed this early. After taking some pictures of our little school boy, we were off to
OCPS. Kyle, Sarah and I walked Daniel to his room. Daniel gave us all good-bye hugs and he was ready to start his year. I think my picture taking distracted me and kept me from crying. That was an answered prayer! After we left his classroom we moved on to the Boo
Hoo breakfast for kindergarten parents and siblings. Thankfully, none of us were Boo
Hooing, but Kyle and Sarah don't miss an opportunity to eat powdered donuts! Throughout the day Kyle asked several times if we could go get Daniel. This will be an adjustment for him. We all waited in the driveway for the bus. Yes, I actually let him ride the bus home. It was his choice and he was very excited about the bus ride home. When the doors on the bus opened, Daniel was smiling from ear to ear. He was so proud. I think the bus ride was the highlight of his day. He was so excited because they had the windows down on the bus! Of course we had to take more pictures. Daniel's first day was great!
